Computing

Our aim at Hamsey Green Primary School is to ensure the children develop their computing capacity to participate in a rapidly changing world, increasingly transformed by technology. We enable them to find, explore, analyse, exchange, and present information. Our focus is to support the children in developing the capacity to apply and transfer these skills effectively.

Throughout their time at Hamsey Green the children are taught how to use the Internet safely. This is frequently through assemblies, external visitors/speakers, PSHE lessons and computing lessons.

We use the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) scheme,  Teach Computing,  which has been specifically written for Primary Schools but links to the progression of learning that they will meet as they go through their secondary education.

You can view the KS1 and KS2 Curriculum Map and the Progression of Skills for Computing below.

We ensure that the children leave our school fully aware of their digital footprint and with the skills to navigate the ever-changing online world.
