Socks Rock – mismatched socks (with school uniform) for World Downs Syndrome Day |
Ofsted Report
We are so proud to announce that the Ofsted Inspectors found Hamsey Green Primary School to be ‘Good’ in every category. Thank you to all of the Hamsey Green Primary School community for your support and our plans for the future of the school. Thank you as well for those who took the time to complete the Parentview survey. A copy of the letter and full report are on the website. It was so lovely to receive all the congratulatory emails. Please spread the word in the community and look out for some great celebratory banners coming soon!
Grandparents Day
This was another successful afternoon for children across the school to share a book and game with their grandparents. We look forward to seeing you next term!
World Down Syndrome Day
'Socks Rock!’. Following on from World Down Syndrome Day on Saturday 21st March, children are invited to wear mismatched socks on Tuesday 24th March along with their school uniform.
PTA
The PTA are asking for donations of pre-loved World Book day and Christmas costumes that are appropriate and in good condition; for future World Book day’s that the PTA can hire out to parents, to save the cost of purchasing expensive costumes for these days/events.
The Sun Books
Thank you to everyone who collected the Sun Book vouchers for us. Unfortunately, we did not have enough to redeem, but we did have enough to be put in for a draw, which resulted in us ‘winning’ 100 books for the school!
Delight Charity
We will be collecting any good quality children’s books suitable for children aged 3-11 years. These will be distributed to children living in the UK who do not have their own books. There are collection boxes situated in the Foyer at the Main Office and at The Nest, until the end of term.
The Words of the Week were
Infants - ‘Stormy’ – weather which features rain, heavy winds and can include thunder and lightning.
Juniors - ‘Derelict’ – In a very poor condition as a result of disuse and neglect.
Riddle of the Week for pupils (last answer: it would become wet)
What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?
