We are taking part in the Golden Boot Challenge, the biggest school travel competition in the country! The annual Golden Boot Challenge is designed to encourage children, parents and schools to choose sustainable alternatives to the car on school journeys. The Challenge will run from Monday 3rd June – Friday 28th June, with every Friday being the Challenge Day. (As Friday 7th June is an inset day, for this week only the Challenge Day will be Thursday 6th June). Today we had our Baseline day for recording how the pupils ‘normally’ travel to school.
Extra-Curricular Clubs
Thank you to everyone who returned their forms on time for the extra-curricular clubs. Notification has been sent to those parents of the children who have been successful in securing a place in their chosen club/s. If you have not received an email, unfortunately a place will not have been allocated for this period.
PGL Meeting
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the PGL meeting. For those that were not able to attend, please click here for the presentation slides.
Bikeability
There are places still available for the Year 5 and Year 6 Bikeability courses in June. Letters have been sent home, copies of which are on the website. Please return the slip by Monday 3rd June and payment for this is to be done online. If you have already signed up for the Bikeability or are going to, please take the opportunity over this half term to make sure that their bikes are roadworthy. Please click here for a checklist for your bike and Halfords offer a free bike check which needs to be booked on their website.
Summer Holiday Club
Unfortunately, due to the building work due to take place during the summer holidays we will be unable to run the summer holiday club this year.
Half Term
It has been a very busy and packed half term. Thank you for your continued support to our wonderful school community. We wish you a restful half term week and look forward to seeing you all back to school on Monday 3rd June. (Please remember to order school dinners for when we are back!).
The Word of the Week was
Upper School facetious - ‘treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humour; flippant’
Lower School frantic - ‘distraught with fear, anxiety or another emotion’
