Christmas Parties – next week

The Lower School children will be having Christmas parties in their classrooms during the afternoon of Tuesday 18^th December. Please send your child in with some party clothes in a named carrier bag for them to change into that afternoon.

Information regarding the Upper School Christmas class parties has been sent home with the children this week.

 

A message from our School Attendance Officer - Mrs Bearman

We have been working hard with parents and our attached Educational Welfare Officer to raise the expectations for pupil attendance.  We are pleased to announce that our current attendance has reached a fantastic 95.99%!  This is a great improvement on our percentage this time last year which was 94.94%. The government expected target and National Average is 96% and we are well on our way to achieving this -being only 0.1% off this figure.   With this great attendance, the pupils will be more successful in their achievement. Every school day counts towards the children making good progress.

We are delighted with our results and would like to thank the parents for their continued support in this approach.

 

Weather conditions

Please take extra care when walking through both school sites, as temperatures fluctuate and the colder weather is setting in, we can experience layers of frost and ice. Whilst we do invest time in gritting and preparing the large site that we have whenever possible, there may be times when this cannot be done and  ice and frost remains, particularly early in the mornings and on parts of the larger areas of the playground.

 

A message from Mr Boffa

As maths is a school focus, Years 3 - 6 are being set a small amount of maths revision this week which can be completed and handed in on the last day of term or alternatively it can be brought in when we return after the Christmas break.

 

Last Day of Term

On Wednesday 19^th December school will finish early as follows:

Lower School – 1.05pm

Upper School – 1.15pm

As per the email sent out to Ocean Club parents last week, this facility will continue to run as normal until 6.00pm on this day.
